Zanzibar Joins CWEIC as Strategic Partner to Amplify Global Investment Drive

Zanzibar strengthens its global investment ambitions by joining the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) as a Strategic Partner. This move connects ZIPA to a powerful international network, unlocking new avenues for sustainable growth and transformative partnerships.

Zanzibar has taken a significant leap forward in its mission to become a globally competitive investment destination. The Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA) has officially joined the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) as a Strategic Partner, marking a bold step in elevating Zanzibar’s international economic engagement.

The announcement was made in the presence of H.E. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, underscoring the government's strong commitment to fostering strategic global alliances that support sustainable economic development.

Becoming a Strategic Partner of CWEIC positions Zanzibar to benefit from one of the most influential business and government networks within the Commonwealth. As a member, ZIPA will:

  • Engage with over 140 leading businesses and government institutions from across the Commonwealth and beyond
  • Gain access to exclusive global investment platforms and high-level advisory networks
  • Participate in the prestigious Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF), a flagship event bringing together decision-makers and investors
  • Promote impactful Business-to-Government (B2G) partnerships, investment missions, and sustainable development initiatives

This collaboration signals Zanzibar’s readiness to attract responsible, high-impact investment that delivers long-term value, promotes inclusive growth, and drives forward the island’s economic transformation agenda.

"Our partnership with CWEIC reaffirms our vision to position Zanzibar as a hub for innovation, trade, and investment on the global stage," a ZIPA representative noted. "We are excited to leverage this opportunity to showcase the wealth of potential Zanzibar offers and to welcome new partners to be part of our journey."

As ZIPA deepens its engagement with CWEIC, it invites international investors and partners to explore the untapped opportunities Zanzibar has to offer—from tourism and blue economy initiatives to technology, infrastructure, and renewable energy.
